Sugar Bay’s Management Team

Directors

Sugar Bay is owned and managed by Nic and Zoë Ellender. Nic, a mechanical engineer, and Zoë, an attorney, both left the corporate world to follow their dream of combining their love of children, holidays, adventure, sports, the sun and sun.

They have had extensive experience caring for, entertaining and organizing children of different age groups. They love to see children making the most of their special talents and abilities and are committed to providing the ultimate holiday experience.

Resort Managers

A full time professional team of 14 managers are responsible for overseeing the campers, counselors and ensuring the smooth running of Sugar Bay. Personally selected by Zoe and Nic, most of them have prior experience working as counselors at Sugar Bay, in South Africa and abroad. Their energy and zest for life helps them to make the campers' and counselors' time at Sugar Bay memorable and enjoyable. In addition to being excellent managers and facilitators, they all share the directors' passion for summer camps, education and children.

Each member of our management team is responsible for the running of different areas that best suits their individual talents and interests. They are here to make sure that every camper

has the most memorable experience of their lives.

Counselors

The young adults who are chosen to take care of the children are called "counselors". They come from all over the world and many of them have worked in American Summer camps. Their crazy nicknames and playful personalities set a great vibe and bring lots of excitement to Sugar Bay. Their first priority is the care, supervision and happiness of every child and they form an integral part of the Sugar Bay experience. They are also actively involved in teaching activities and ensuring that every child is helped and encouraged to reach their full potential, whatever their capability level
