A position for Event & Programming Manager has become available at Sugar Bay. We are an American style holiday resort for children and teenagers (7-17 years). Sugar Bay is a very relaxed progressive company, situated in Zinkwazi Beach an hour from Durban and 30 minutes from Ballito.

 

Similar to an Event Planner, this is a dynamic position that includes organising décor, theme, events, activities, games, time-tables, educational and team-building programs. You will be responsible for all the brainstorming, research, purchases, scheduling, training, delegating, and logistics to ensure that 200 kids and 70 counselors know what they should be doing, where, and when.

 

As the hours can be long, it suits a younger adult with no family commitments, who are happy to live on-site. The salary is negotiable depending on prior administrative and event planning experience and will include a housing allowance.

 

Prerequisites:

 

• Excellent command of English (written and spoken) with no obvious accent and NO written grammatical errors.

• Creative. Out-of-the-box thinker. Preferably with creative event planning experience

• A passion for the summer camping industry, preferably with prior experience working at a Summer Camp.

• Computer literate (including working on excel with spreadsheets)

• Excellent organisational skills and administrative experience. Perfectionist. Meticulous. Organised.

• Responsible. Innate common sense.

• Managerial skills and experience

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Able to work fast, under pressure, juggling many projects simultaneously
