A school holiday can be more than a break from routine.
It can be the week your child makes new friends, tries something they never thought they would do, builds confidence, spends time outdoors, and comes home with stories they cannot wait to tell you.
This June and July, Sugar Bay is bringing three unforgettable themed holiday camps to the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast: Wicked Week, FIFA Week, and Come Dine With Me Week.
Each camp has its own theme, energy, activities, and special moments, but every week includes the full Sugar Bay experience: adventure, friendship, free-choice activities, 24/7 supervision, and a safe sleepover camp environment for kids and teens aged 7 to 17.
Based in Zinkwazi Beach, KwaZulu-Natal, Sugar Bay gives children the freedom to enjoy a real holiday while parents have peace of mind knowing they are cared for, supervised, and supported throughout their stay.

New to Sugar Bay?
If this is your first time discovering Sugar Bay, welcome.
Sugar Bay is a kids-only sleepover holiday camp based in Zinkwazi Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. Since 2001, we have welcomed children and teenagers aged 7 to 17 for school holiday camps filled with adventure, friendship, independence, confidence, and fun.
Campers can choose from over 100 free-choice activities, enjoy a screen-free holiday experience, and are supervised 24/7 by trained staff. With a dedicated 1:3 staff-to-camper ratio, Sugar Bay gives children the freedom to enjoy camp while parents have peace of mind knowing they are in a safe, structured environment.
This is not a camp where every child is pushed through the same programme all day. At Sugar Bay, children get to choose activities that excite them, challenge them, and help them feel at home. One camper may spend the day at the beach, another may choose arts and crafts, another may try climbing, skating, surfing, soccer, drama, dancing, or pool activities.
That freedom is a big part of why children come home feeling more independent, more confident, and already asking when they can come back.
A Winter Holiday That Still Feels Like an Adventure
June and July may be winter in South Africa, but Sugar Bay is based on the tropical North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, where the weather is much milder than many parts of the country.
Campers can still enjoy the full Sugar Bay experience, including outdoor activities, beach time, lagoon adventures, creative workshops, sports, themed programmes, and evening entertainment. Our location makes Sugar Bay a year-round camp destination, with plenty for children to do in every season.
Why Parents Choose Sugar Bay
Parents choose Sugar Bay because it offers more than a busy week of activities.
It gives children a chance to grow.
For many campers, Sugar Bay is where they learn to make new friends, spend time away from home, try new things, become more independent, and discover what they enjoy without screens or everyday distractions.
For parents, it offers something just as important: peace of mind.
Children are supervised throughout the day and night, activities are structured, water activities are managed with safety procedures in place, and our staff are present across camp to guide, support, and care for campers.
Sugar Bay is designed to feel exciting for children and reassuring for parents.
June and July 2026 Camp Lineup
Each week has its own theme, but every camp includes the full Sugar Bay experience. Your child can come for one week, or stay for more than one camp if they want a longer holiday filled with friends, adventure, and new experiences.
Wicked Week: A Theatre-Inspired Holiday Camp for Kids
Dates: 28 June to 5 July 2026
Theme: Wicked-inspired theatre, creativity, fantasy, performance, and imagination
Optional Excursion: uShaka Marine World
For kids who love big songs, magical worlds, theatre, costumes, and a little bit of mischief, Wicked Week brings the excitement of the stage to Sugar Bay.
This camp is designed for creative campers, musical fans, confident performers, shy beginners, fantasy lovers, and children who simply want a school holiday filled with imagination and fun. Campers can get involved through theatre games, cabin performances, creative workshops, themed dining, evening programmes, costumes, props, and Sugar Bay’s usual adventure activities.
It is not only for children who love acting. A camper who prefers art can enjoy the creative workshops. A camper who loves adventure can still choose beach, pool, lagoon, sports, and outdoor activities. The theme brings the week to life, but every child can find their own way to be part of it.

FIFA Week: A Football-Themed Holiday Camp During the Biggest Soccer Month of 2026
Dates: 5 to 12 July 2026
Theme: Football fever, team spirit, friendly competition, creative challenges, and camp energy
Optional Excursion: BOUNCE
As football excitement builds around the biggest tournament of 2026, FIFA Week gives kids their own chance to feel part of the action.
This football-themed holiday camp brings the energy of the pitch to Sugar Bay, with soccer-inspired challenges, team spirit activities, camper and counsellor matches, cheerleading, poster making, themed dining, evening programmes, and plenty of classic Sugar Bay adventure.
FIFA Week is not only for serious soccer players. It is for active kids, football fans, creative campers, team players, and children who love the excitement of being part of something bigger. Some campers may want to play. Others may want to cheer, create posters, join cabin challenges, or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
This is a fun, supervised school holiday camp, not a professional soccer training programme.
The focus is on fun, friendship, confidence, teamwork, and adventure.

Come Dine With Me Week: A Creative Dining Challenge at Camp
Dates: 12 to 19 July 2026
Optional Excursion: Barnyard Theatre
What happens when a cabin of campers gets handed a table, a theme, a menu, and the chance to impress?
Come Dine With Me Week turns mealtimes into a camp-wide adventure. Campers will work together to plan, decorate, host, and compete in a fun dining challenge, all while enjoying the full Sugar Bay sleepover camp experience.
Throughout the week, cabins will take part in creative food-inspired games, themed evening programmes, waiter training, menu ideas, table décor, entertainment, and presentation. The theme encourages teamwork, confidence, creativity, communication, and plenty of laughter.
It is not only for children who love cooking. Sugar Bay still offers over 100 free-choice activities, so campers can enjoy adventure, beach time, sports, pool activities, creative sessions, evening entertainment, and cabin bonding throughout the week.

More Than a Camp Theme
The themes make each week exciting, but Sugar Bay is about far more than the theme.
Campers come for the fun, but they often leave with something deeper: new friendships, confidence, independence, courage, and memories that stay with them long after the holiday ends.
At Sugar Bay, children get to experience:
Freedom of choice: Campers choose from over 100 activities, so they can follow their interests and try new things at their own pace.
Real friendships: Camp brings children together from different schools, towns, provinces, and sometimes even different countries.
Screen-free connection: Without phones taking over the day, campers are encouraged to connect, play, explore, and be fully present.
Adventure in a safe environment: Children can enjoy independence while still being supported by trained staff and structured supervision.
Confidence through experience: Whether it is performing on stage, joining a team, trying a new activity, making friends, or sleeping away from home, camp gives children space to grow.
