Welcome to the Land of Oz

This June, Sugar Bay is transforming into the magical world of Oz! Throughout the week, our camp mascots, Elphaba and Glinda, will bring the theme to life with high-energy games and a lighthearted prank war involving electric gum and fart pillows.

Campers will explore their creativity and build confidence through theatre-inspired activities. Each cabin will spend the week developing their own short play—creating characters, costumes, and storylines inspired by all things "Wicked"—leading up to a spectacular Broadway-style Wicked Theatre Finale on the big stage.

Highlights of the Week

Beyond the stage, the week is packed with Oz-themed adventures:

  • Creative Workshops: Theatre games, stage performance, dance, fabric painting, and sun catcher making.

  • Themed Evening Programs: Juniors will follow the "Yellow Brick Quest" , while Seniors attempt to "Escape to Emerald City" in a night scavenger hunt while avoiding our "Flying Monkey" counselors.

  • Wicked Potion Making: Seniors will head to the Party Room to craft their own magical mocktails.

  • The Land of Oz Buffet: A magical Friday night dinner featuring "Emerald City Pasta," "Wizard Chicken," "Yellow Brick Potato wedges," and green "Emerald Cupcakes".

Trusted by Parents and Campers

We pride ourselves on creating a safe, joyous, and unplugged environment. But don’t just take our word for it—our campers and parents say it best!

  • Unforgettable Joy and Reassurance: "I absolutely loved hearing all the stories the girls had to share — their joy was contagious! But what truly stood out for me was the incredible communication from the Sugar Bay Camp staff. You didn’t miss a beat. Even though I missed them dearly, your thoughtful updates made me feel like I was just minutes away. The warmth of your team, the sweet notes from the kids, the daily agendas, and the photos, every detail meant the world to me." - Françoise (Google Review).

  • Building Confidence: Long-time camper Sassy Taylor Morrison shares how the camp took her from being a little afraid to someone adventurous enough to rock climb, try new things, and unplug from technology. Watch her full review here:

  • Teen Freedom: For our older teenagers (ages 15-17), the Advanced Camper (AC) program offers a space to freely express themselves, stay up later for exclusive evening programs, and enjoy special perks like skipping the tuck shop line! As noted by camper Kea, who has been returning for 10 years, it's the perfect space for teens to just enjoy the moment. Watch his full review here:
